Red Point
Al White
Scottish artist Al White works predominantly in printmaking and illustration and draws on brutalism, futurism and ‘crud’ as sources of inspiration. Across the pages of Red Point 4x6” lab prints originally used to produce collages for the 2016 zine/mixtape Concrete Cabin are re-presented, in a manner that draws our attention to White‘s significant abilities as a photographer, while reminding us of the haptic delight that exists in objects like these - the photograph as paper.
White has produced numerous editions, exhibitions and installations throughout his career and is a founding member of the esoteric
12th Isle label. Beyond creating posters and flyers for venues and institutions across the world Al is perhaps best known for defining the group’s distinct visual aesthetic.
Al White lives and works in Glasgow and is a graduate of the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee.
